Oh the joys of an office existence! We have all had that experience; sitting around in the 4×4 cubicle, not doing a whole lot, staring at blank walls and thinking “we really should do something about that!”. Well short of typing a strongly worded letter to your boss, swinging around on your office chair and making a spectacular storm-off, there is a more sane (and financially more secure) option; why not engage in some <a href="http://cubicledecoration.info"title="" >Cubicle Decoration?

To put it simply, Cubicle Decoration is all about escapism. Who wants to be stuck in a grey, bland surrounding on a rainy monday morning? Not me! So why not do something about it. Get creative and style your cubicle to remind you of places you love to be, at the beach or at the park, with family or friends. Make your cubicle a source of inspiration rather than a soul-destroying drain! I know, I’m dramatic!

<!--
google_ad_client = "ca-pub-7948214767980652";
/* 300x250 Sidebar */
google_ad_slot = "3799767771";
google_ad_width = 300;
google_ad_height = 250;

<script type="text/javascript"

As with everything in this god-forsaken corporate world, we can’t just plough ahead with our ingenious plans of interior decoration. We must go through the tedious task of ensuring our neighboring cubicles are happy to operate beside our center of coolness, and of course that company policies or stuffy bosses are not going to hinder this grand scheme. Plus, plus, plus.. and this is extremely important… do it on your own time! I know it’s a drag, but all it takes is some busy-body to start wagging their tongue about how you spent the morning tying frilly bows to your desk and you may not even have a cubicle tomorrow morning. So thread carefully!

Once you have completed these prerequisites you are ready to set free your creative monster. So where do you start?

As with anything, you need a framework. When it comes to something creative like this, we call it a theme. Is your cubicle going to be like stepping into Alice in Wonderland? Stepping onto the set of CSI? Or maybe something more earthy and fresh like the image below?

Now, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. One thing you need to have an abundance of is SPACE! Space to type, space to place files, space to scoff down a juicy chicken roll on your lunch break! Space is what it’s all about, so get creative on your organisation. How much of this crap do you need? Will you need extra drawers or a filing cabinet. Get organised and you will create a truly enjoyable working space!

While some people love the escapism of designing their cubicle into something wild and exotic, others prefer to have a homely feel, to feel connected to home and family while at work. If this is you, then get out that cardboard box and start importing your plants, pictures, photos or whatever you have at home that makes you feel happy.

Now all this is great, but remember not to get too comfortable – you are here to work remember! Keep the lighting bright to keep you alert and try not to clutter around the computer screen!
